Baak enlarges its central warehouse in Straelen

The safety shoe producer BAAK enlarges its central warehouse in Straelen. From May on, the company wants to benefit from the new storehouse, the stock capacities will double then. Customers will profit from a more flexible logistics. For the general manager Ingo Grusa, the building in the industrial area „Hetzert“ is also a commitment to the region“. About 1000 additional square meters storage space will arise until May: for Baak this will open up much more logistical options, the producer will send the ordered safety shoes centrally to his customers throughout Europe. This new warehouse, located directly next to the head quarter premises, symbolizes the positive development of the last years. This owner managed family business in 2nd generation, founded in 1992, moved from Duisburg to Straelen in 2011 – and is on the growth path since then. The number of employees increased meanwhile up to 30, and the warehouse staff of course increased, too. In addition, Baak expanded his product range during the last years. „The enlargement of our storehouse is another step for a prosperous future“ says Ingo Grusa, who works in the company since its foundation, and leads the business since 2012. With the previous central warehouse, the company reached its limit in a very short time.„Now we are glad that, thanks to this enlargement, we will be able to offer an even better service for our customers“ says Ingo Grusa. „We will be able to keep a big quantity of goods in stock and, thanks to short loading times, we can handle the logistics very flexible.“ The environment will also benefit from the new building. Transportation will decrease because traffic to external warehouses won´t be necessary anymore. This will relieve roads and climate. The commissioning of these storage facilities is just a first step, it can be changed into a high-bay warehouse if needed. „This would be another investment in order to create further capacities“ explains Ingo Grusa. Moreover: it is possible to enlarge the ground area of the building up to additional 700 square meters. Picture: left Herbert Zetzen (office manager), Ingo Grusa (general manager)
